The Neighborhood

The village of Taiba with its Indian origins revolves around fishing and breeding as you will quickly discover if you witness the departure and the arrival of the Jangadas (fishermen's boats) and the sorting and selling of fish, lobsters, and shrimps.

The population is approximately 3,000 inhabitants who enjoy several restaurants and bars offering various atmospheres to spice up your evenings.

You can also mix with locals and dance to Brazilian rhythms on Saturday nights at the traditional Forro d'Antonio.

At full moon, fishermen organize the Peixes Assados. The fish is cooked on a fire of coconuts on the beach, and served to the participants a banana tree leaf, feet in the sand.

In the evening you can watch the sunset on the dunes.

Every year, Taiba welcomes the kite surfing world championship, courtesy of its constant breeze.

You can choose to bathe on a sandy beach, natural swimming pools formed in rocks, fishermen's beach surrounded with Jangadas or the lagoon of fresh water! It's up to you.
